Professional experience hub schools
As part of their initial teacher education course, every pre-service teacher is required to complete between 60 and 80 days of practical experience in a school. This is known as professional experience. It may include teaching practice, practicum (one of a number of supervised practical teaching experiences) and professional experience internship (a final placement involving program supervision rather than in-class supervision).
We support high standards of professional experience for pre-service teachers who are studying an initial teacher education course.
The Professional Experience Hub School Program supports 24 schools to lead best practice professional experience. The Professional Experience Hub Schools (Hub Schools) focus on producing innovative and sustainable quality professional experience practices to share with other schools across the state.
