Our project developed teacher understanding and skills in creating a Stage 3 STEM unit of work using project based learning pedagogy. The focus was on integrating key learning areas to ensure that students are driving their learning.
The project task was to design a chicken coop that would be built for the school. The school parliament and SRC had been requesting a chicken coop be built at the school for a number of years. This was supported and approved by the school leaders. Project based pedagogy was utilised by the Stage 3 teachers to develop engaging learning for their students and to develop their STEM Chicken Coop project.
