What we do
PCYC NSW works in partnership with NSW Police to deliver youth-based programs and activities in 64 locations across NSW. PCYC also offers youth leadership programs which offer participants life and leadership development as well as educational components through our registered training organisation (RTO).
- BlueStar Citizenship and Leadership
It is delivered by qualified youth workers from NSW Police, PCYC, and by qualified teachers. The BlueStar Citizenship program is delivered over four one-week sessions during each school holiday period. Students who complete the citizenship program are then invited back the following year to complete the Leadership program. This program provides:
- life skills
- team work
- community volunteering and fundraising
- leadership skills
- Bronze level Duke of Edinburgh
- First Aid
- Certificate I in Volunteering.
Costs: $3000 per year
- Fit for Work
Fit for Work is a 10 to 12 week program to help students who are disengaged from school gain employment or re-engage with their schooling. It's targeted at high school students who are 15 to 18 years old. It's run during school terms and delivered by trained youth workers and teachers at school or at the local PCYC.
Costs: $3000 per student
- Job Ready
Our Job Ready program help students gain employment by providing information and support with resume and interview techniques, gaining a Whitecard, first aid knowledge and optional barista training. It requires a minimum of 15 participants.
Costs: $400 per student
