Schools receive a SFLM budget based on the individual school’s rolling three year average sick and FACS leave taken. The school’s average position is then moderated according to a statewide benchmark of sick days for schools.
For 2021, the three year rolling average leave taken has been maintained for schools at 2020 Approved SBAR levels to minimise the impact of Australian drought and Covid-19 on school leave profiles. Casual salary rates and 2021 anticipated SBAR full time equivalent (FTE) data has been updated as usual for 2021.
For 2021, SFLM has been updated for 2021 casual salary rates and anticipated staffing FTE, whilst maintaining the average sick and FACS leave taken between 2017 and 2019 for schools to minimise the impact of Covid-19 and drought factors on regular school leave profiles.
A SFLM factsheet is provided to each school with a step by step guide on how their SFLM budget was calculated.
The number of sick and FACS leave days taken across all schools is monitored centrally. Schools impacted by higher than expected instances of approved sick and FACS leave will receive a budget adjustment.
