The categories of staff included in Immediate SASS are:

• Aboriginal education officer (primary, secondary and pre-school)
• School learning support officer (primary and secondary, ethnic primary and secondary, pre-school and Centre for Effective Reading).

All other categories of School Administrative Support Staff come under non immediate.

The funds are provided as a general allocation to support the day to day operations of the school. Principals have flexibility in how they use these funds based on the contextual needs of the school.
