Does my child need a diagnosis?
My child doesn't have a diagnosis
Your child does not need a formal diagnosis of disability to receive support in mainstream classes.
The school's learning and support team works with students, parents and carers, classroom teachers and other professionals to identify students who would benefit from support – at any stage of a student's school life.
Talk to your local school - whether or not you have a diagnosis for your child - if you feel that they may have additional learning and support needs.
My child has a diagnosis
Your child may have a diagnosed disability that might benefit from additional support (known as targeted support).
Additionally, diagnosis of the following may also mean your child is eligible for targeted support:
Mental health disorder
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
Sensory impairment (hearing and/or vision)
