Keeping children safe by choosing and using the right cars seats
Keeping children safe by choosing and using the right cars seats
Helping keep children safe in cars through making informed decisions has become a nationwide initiative as a result of a consortium of government agencies and motoring organisations, known as the Child Restraint Evaluation Program (CREP).
CREP is a partnership between Transport for NSW (TfNSW), The National Roads & Motorists' Association, Royal Automobile Club of Victoria, Transport Accident Commission, VicRoads and Kidsafe Australia. Together, their goal is to achieve safety for children travelling in vehicles.
Child Car Seats website provides information on more than 200 child car seats and assistance in:
- Finding, comparing and using the safest child car seat
- Emphasising the need to have children correctly restrained
- Finding the closest Authorised Restraint Fitting Station.
Along with community safety messaging, through the ‘Child Car Seats, Make the safest choice' campaign, there is comprehensive information on national safety standards, tools to select the right child car seat, how to use seats correctly, and answers to frequently asked questions.
