Rural Experience Program

The Rural Experience Program provides an opportunity for permanent teachers to take part in a short-term placement in a Rural and Remote school.

Applications are NOW OPEN for the 2021 Rural Experience Program (closing Sunday 7 March, 2021).

Placements can commence from Term 2, however application requests for a delayed (eg, Term 3) start will be considered.

Subscribe to our email alert list for program updates and announcements.

Placements are created by principals and are fully or co-funded by the Rural and Remote Education initiative in cooperation with placement host rural schools. Placements are extra to the establishment at the host rural school. An allowance of $500 per week is available to teachers for the duration of their placement.
